Thank you all

We would like to thank everyone who turned up for our Beach and Underwater Cleanup on Friday, November 18, which was held at the popular Sealine Beach. A large number of divers came out to help clean underwater, while people of all ages joined in to pick up garbage along the beach. We truly appreciate the support of everyone who participated for making this event such a success!

We hope to see you all out again at our next cleanup day!

Diving The Winter Months In Qatar

It’s that time of year again…winter is just around the corner and the days are cool, windy and just a little wet! While this weather is a welcome change for most residents in Qatar, it does make diving a bit chilly. But with the appropriate exposure suit, almost anyone can still have a good day of diving.

The water temperatures are beginning to drop, so it is advisable to dust off those wetsuits and squeeze into them again! At the moment, a 3mm wetsuit will do just fine, but as the water cools off a little more, (or for divers who get cold easily), it is best to wear something thicker, or layer multiple wetsuits.

It is also a good idea to invest in a thicker pair of gloves and even a hood, while diving in Qatar’s winter waters. If you don’t already own adjustable fins with boots, you may want to consider purchasing a pair if you plan to do a lot of diving. And of course, keep in mind that with those extra layers of neoprene you will need to dive with a little extra weight. Plan to take a bit extra with you when you dive, and ensure you do a weight check before you start your dive.

So get out there – grab your wetsuit and some extra weight and get diving! See you underwater!

Five Star Instructor Development Center

We are very pleased to announce that Qatar Divers has now reached the level of PADI Five Star Instructor Development Dive Center! This is a rating awarded to dive centers which have met a number of requirements set out by PADI and obtained all previous dive center ratings.

A PADI Five Star Instructor Development Dive Center is a dive center that is able to conduct PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC). An IDC is a course which helps to sharpen the skills and theoretical knowledge of Divemasters and Assistant Instructors who wish to continue on and complete their Instructor Examination.

Achieving this new ranking from PADI is a special day for us at Qatar Divers, as we are committed not only to training all levels of recreational divers, but also to training divers who wish to be PADI professionals and assisting them in becoming the very best they can be. We hope that by being able to train PADI Instructors at our facility, we will be able to offer many great opportunities for individuals in Qatar who wish to continue their professional education.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped us to get this far!
